Eurasian Sparrowhawk

Eurasian Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus), also known traditionally as the sparrowhawk, is a small Raptor of the Family Accipitridae. It has a huge range right across Eurasia being resident in Western Europe and a summer migrant in N Eurasia. In the AWB Region it is resident in the Maghreb, coastal Turkey, the S Caucasus and S Caspian. Elsewhere it is a winter migrant south to Cyprus, the Fertile Crescent, S Iran, Arabian Gulf and Red Sea coasts of Arabia, and NE Africa.
