Golden Eagle  - Aquila chrysaetos - is a mainly resident, very large and widespread Holarctic Raptor of the Family Accipitridae, the Order Accipitriformes and Type - diurnal-raptor. It ranges across the whole Palearctic Region, but is generally absent from more populated regions, and dense forest areas. In the AWB Region it is present in the Maghreb countries, Turkey, the Caucasus and Iran. In Arabia in winter, there is some partial movement south to the Levant, Iraq, S Iran, UAE & Oman.

Type - diurnal-raptor - nests on cliffs, escarpments, but also trees, pylons, & platforms,
Habitat: Mountainous open and semi open country with natural vegetation,
