African Fish-Eagle

African fish eagle – Haliaeetus vocifer – is a large Eagle of the Family Accipitridae, Order Accipitriformes and is of Type – diurnal-raptor. It is largely resident throughout sub-Saharan Africa in its appropriate Habitat of large open water wetland. In the AWB Region it is resident from the Sahel southwards, except for Djibouti and most of Somalia, where it occurs only in the far South of the country.

 Type - diurnal-raptor -  
Habitat Resident - All types of large open wetlands that sustain big fish, with adjacent large waterside trees. 
Habitat Hunting -  From prominent perch in large waterside tree sweeps over water and grabs surface fish with its                                   
                               talons
Habitat Nest - In large tree close to water, large stick nest added to yearly.
