The Alexandrine parakeet – Psittacula eupatria is a sedentary medium/large sized parakeet of Type – Psittacine, Family Psittaculidae and Order Psittaciformes. It is native to India and SE Asia, but a few small populations have been established in the Middle East, particularly in Iran and Bahrain. It is under threat due to loss of natural habitat and excessive capture for the pet trade.
