The Atlantic puffin – Fratercula arctica also known as the Common Puffin, is a smallish stocky species of Type – seabird of the Alcidae Family, and the Order Charadriiformes. It is the only puffin native to the North Atlantic Ocean. It nests in colonies along islands and coastlines of the North Atlantic south to the British Isles. It spends the winter in the open sea, In the AWB Region it is found off the coasts of Morocco, Western Sahara and in the Western Mediterranean Sea.
