Bay-backed shrike – Lanius vittatus – is an Asian species of Type – sallyer, Family Laniidae and Order Passeriformes, It is a resident bird of the Indian sub-continent extending W into Iran and NW into Central Asia. Iran is the only country in the AWB Region within its permanent range but is also recorded in the UAE.
