The Black- throated diver – Gavia arctica or Arctic loon or Black-throated loon is a migratory Eurasian diver of Type – waterbird, Family Gaviidae and Order Gaviiformes. It is a summer breeder to extensive areas of N Eurasia, and in the winter divides into two wintering areas, W Europe and E Asia. The European end includes the coasts of NW Europe, N Mediterranean, the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. Elsewhere in the AWB Region it is only Accidental.
