Black-winged pratincole

The Black-winged pratincole – Glareola nordmanni is a medium sized migratory Old World species of Type – wader and the Order Charadriiformes. It is a summer breeder to the warmer areas of SE Europe and Central Asia and in the winter migrates to the Sahel Region and southern Africa. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to a small area of E Turkey and Azerbaijan and a winter visitor to parts of the Sahel Region in SW Mauritania, Central Mali and around the Lake Chad area.
