Bluethroat – Luscinia svecica – it is a migratory Eurasian bluethroat of Type – sallyer, Family Muscicapidae and Order Passeriformes. It has a very extensive summer breeding range across Eurasia and also an extensive wintering range from the Atlantic coast of W Africa to the coast of China on the E China Sea. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to E Turkey, S Caucasus and NE Iran and in winter is found widely over the region, particularly in Cyprus, SW Iran, S Iraq, the Arabian Gulf states, Yemen, N Egypt and its Nile valley, Sinai, the Levant, Syria and in isolated areas over the N Maghreb states and coast to coast across the S Sahel states.

Type - sallyer - secretive - nests low down in dense bushes or tussock grasses,
Summer Habitat - bushy swamp margins, wet birch woods,
Winter Habitat - srcubby brush areas in the margins of overgrown thickets and reedbeds
