Bombycillidae – Waxwings+ is a Family of medium sized passerines of Type – frugivore and Order Passeriformes. They have a smooth plumage and unique red tips to some wing feathers which looks like a blob of sealing wax, a feature that gives them their name. They summer in the northern forests, where they favour rowan berries, but when fruits are not available they widen their diet to include insects and plant material. In winter their movements tend to be more nomadic searching for fruits rather than typical migration patterns.
