Brown shrike – Lanius cristatus – is an Asian species of Type – sallyer, Family Laniidae and Order Passeriformes. It is an E Asian bird, largely migratory but with a small resident population in SE China. One of its main wintering areas is lower India, but it is recorded in the UAE as Accidental.
