Cinclidae – Dippers+ is a Family of passerine birds of Type – underwater-forager (see below) and Order Passeriformes. They have the unusual ability to forage along river beds, under the water of fast flowing streams, searching for their typical food of aquatic invertebrates. This gives them their Type – underwater-forager, name. The family contains only the one sub-family, Dippers.
