Coal tit – Periparus ater – is a small resident Eurasian passerine of Type – tit-like, Family Paridae and Order Passeriformes. It is resident over a very the extensive range of the Eurasian Temperate Forests, including in the Far East some sub-tropical forests also, but also includes small areas to which it becomes a winter visitor. In the AWB Region it is resident in Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, N Iran, Cyprus, Central Levant and the N Maghreb states.
