Common firecrest – Regulus ignicapilla – is a very small migratory/resident Eurasian passerine of Type – tit-like, Family Regulidae and Order Passeriformes. It is found across Temperate Europe and into NW Africa and SW Asia. It is a summer visitor in Central and NE Europe, elsewhere it is resident and to the S it becomes a winter visitor. In the AWB Region it is resident in parts of N Turkey, W Georgia and the N Maghreb states, and it is a winter visitor over large areas of Central and Black sea coastal areas of Turkey. In Morocco it is more extensively a winter visitor, but also in a few small areas of E Algeria and N Tunisia.
