The Common goldeneye – Bucephala clangula is a mid-sized diving sea duck of Type – waterbird, Family Anatidae and Order Anseriformes. It is a worldwide summer breeder to to the Taiga forest regions of the northern hemisphere, and migrates S to winter in more temperate regions and coasts. In the AWB Region there are a number of small isolated wintering areas in Turkey, Syria, the S Caucasus and the S coastal strip of the Caspian Sea.
