The Common greenshank – Tringa nebularia is large sized Palearctic migratory wader of the family Scolopacidae. It is a summer breeder to the subarctic regions of Eurasia, and winters in the Tropics of the Old World including S Africa and Australasia. In the AWB Region it winters in Azerbaijan, the central valleys of S Iraq and all the coasts of Arabia. In Africa it winters along the the Maghreb coasts and the Atlantic coasts to SW Mauritania, and all across the Sahel states to the Red Sea, in Egypt along the full Nile Valley and the Red Sea coasts to S Somalia.
