Common raven – Corvus corax – is one of the largest of all passerines, and is resident and very widespread over the whole Holarctic Region. It is of Type – ground-forager, Family Corvidae and Order Passeriformes. In the AWB Region it is resident in Turkey, S Caucasus, Iran, Cyprus, the Levant, N Syria and N Iraq. In N Africa it is resident along the coastal areas of the Maghreb states, Libya and Egypt.
