The Crab-plover – Dromas ardeola is a large wader of the family Dromadidae. It is resident and migratory around the coasts of W and N Indian Ocean. In the AWB Region it is resident around all the coasts of Arabia and the S coast of Iran. It winters along the Eastern seaboard of Africa from Sudan to S Africa, including Madagascar and The Comoros.
