Dunnock – Prunella modularis – or Hedge sparrow – is a small migratory/resident Eurasian passerine of Type – insectivore, Family Prunellidae and Order Passeriformes. It is found in W Eurasia, in the N it is migratory and in the W, S and SW Asia, it becomes resident and a winter visitor. In the AWB Region it is resident in N Turkey, N Iran and S Caucasus, and is a winter visitor to Turkey, Iran, S Caucasus, Iraq, Syria, Cyprus, the Levant, N Egypt, NW Libya, N Tunisia and N Morocco.
