Eastern Imperial Eagle – Aquila heliaca – is a large species of Raptor of the Family Accipitridae, Order Accipitriformes and is of Type – diurnal-raptor. It has an historically huge summer migrant range extending from SE Europe to E Asia, but is now greatly reduced in numbers, see Redlist Status below. These summer migrants have dispersed wintering areas from Eastern Africa, Central Arabia to SW Iran, N India and the Far East. There are also some smaller resident populations across Turkey and N Iran.
