Estrildidae – Waxbills+ or Waxbills and allies is a Family of small Estrildid-finches, passerines of Type – granivore, and Order Passeriformes. The Family is native to the Old World Tropics and Australasia, they are seed and berry eaters and many are brightly coloured which has led to them being kept as caged pets and introduced to various other countries. They can be found in a very wide range of open habitats from deserts to farmland.
