European greenfinch – Chloris chloris – is a small resident/migratory Eurasian passerine of Type – granivore, Family Fringillidae and Order Passeriformes. It is found from W Europe to Central Asia, and is mostly resident except that it becomes a summer breeder un the far North of its range, and the SE Mediterranean basin becomes a wintering area. In the AWB Region it is resident in the N Maghreb states, Turkey, S Caucasus, N Iran, N Iraq, Cyprus, the Levant and N Egypt. It winters across the N African coastal areas from S Tunisia, N Libya, N Egypt, Sinai, into S Jordan and NW KSA.
