European pied flycatcher – Ficedula hypoleuca – is a migratory Eurasian flycatcher of Type – sallyer, Family Muscicapidae and Order Passeriformes. It is a summer breeder from W Europe to E Central Asia, and migrates in winter to s s Africa. The main wintering area which is the more wooded areas lying to the S of the Sahel Belt and into the more forested areas of W Africa, includes the extreme S areas of Mali and Chad in the AWB Region.
