The Glareolidae – coursers and pratincoles is a family of waders of the suborder Charadrii of the Order Charadriiformes. The coursers are terrestrial, secretive, crepuscular and nocturnal birds and the pratincoles are aerial, gregarious, noisy and only a few are crepuscular.
