Great reed-warbler – Acrocephalus arundinaceus – is a large migratory warbler of Type – insectivore, Family Acrocephalidae and Order Passeriformes. It is a summer breeder from NW Africa, Iberia, Europe, N Middle East and into Central Asia. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to coastal areas of the Maghreb states, Turkey, S Caucasus, and NW Iran. Its status is uncertain in a number of areas notably in E Turkey, the Levant, Syria, Iraq and parts of Morocco. It migrates in the winter to s s Africa where is found in Mali, Niger and Chad.

Type - insectivore - breeds singly in territories, but flocks in winter,
Summer Habitat - breeds in large reedbeds,
Winter Habitat - widens its choices to include paddyfields, bush country and forest clearings
