Himalayan Griffon Vulture – Gyps himalayensis – is one of the largest Old World vultures and is native to the Himalayas and the adjoining Tibetan Plateau. It is in the Family Accipitridae, the Order Accipitriformes and is of Type – diurnal-raptor – Its habitat is in the higher regions of the Himalayas and the surround plateau extending from Afghanistan in the west to Bhutan in the south east. Griffon Vultures are migratory and outside the breeding season and can be found outside of their high mountain habitat in the northern regions of Bangladesh
