The Hooded crow – Corvus cornix is a medium sized crow of Type – ground forager of the Family Corvidae and the Order Passeriformes. It has a large mostly resident range from W Europe to sub-arctic Central Asia, and S to the Middle East & Egypt. Within the AWB Region it is resident in the S Caucasus, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Cyprus, the Levant and the N Nile Valley of Egypt. There are also some smaller wintering areas in N Syria and adjacent parts of Turkey & Iraq and W Iran.

Type - ground forager - omnivorous constant scavenger, nests in tall trees, cliff ledges, pylons, 
Resident Habitat - farmland, grassland, wood margins, wetland. tidal flats, uplands, urban areas, 
Winter Habitat - varied open and semi open country,
