The Houbara bustard – Chlamydotis undulata or African houbara is a medium/large sized ground bird species of Type – landfowl, Family Otididae and Order Otidiformes. It is sedentary and native to N Africa. In the AWB Region it is found in a narrow corridor across the northern arid areas of Western Sahara, Mauritania, Morocco, Algeria, Libya and Egypt where there is a small extension into N Sudan.
