The Little grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis) is small diving water bird and is the smallest member of the Grebe family. It has a very extensive range over the whole of Eurasia and Africa, but has a very complicated patchwork of breeding, non-breeding and resident populations, the same applies over the AWB Region where it is present in most countries, and it can frequently be found on isolated stretches of water.
