Little tern

The Little tern – Sternula albifrons is a small Old World, migratory tern, of Type – seabird of the family Laridae and the Order Charadriiformes. It is primarily a summer breeder to Eurasia, there are two main populations Europe to Central Asia that migrates to Arabian and S Asian coastal waters, and a Far Eastern population that migrates to more open waters of SE Asia and Australasia, In addition there is a smaller resident populations across N Africa, the Middle East and the N Indian subcontinent. As can be inferred from the above it can be found all around the AWB Region wherever there is a coastline and also at inland rivers in Mali, Niger and Chad.

Type - seabird - breeds colonially on sand or gravel terrain,
Summer Habitat - coastal, large rivers, inland wetlands, 
Winter Habitat - mostly coastal Arabian waters,
Resident Habitat - coastal Mediterranean zones, major rivers, large wetlands,
