Marabou stork – Leptoptilos crumenifer – is a large resident African wading bird of Type – wadingbird, Family Ciconiidae and Order Ciconiiformes. It is widely distributed over s s Africa. In the AWB Region it is resident in Mali, Niger, Chad, Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, W Somaliland, and S Somalia.

Type - wadingbird - colonial breeder, nests in trees,
Typical Habitat - wetlands and dry open savanna, carrion eater, frequents waste dumps,
