Mediterranean gull

The Mediterranean gull – Ichthyaetus melanocephalus is a small European migratory gull of Type – seabird of the family Laridae and the Order Charadriiformes. It is a widely dispersed summer breeder and nests colonially in marshes or islands in large lakes. In the winter it is found in the SW Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic coasts of W Europe and N Africa. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to W and Central Turkey, and in winter is found on the Mediterranean coasts of all the relevant countries, including the Atlantic coasts from Morocco to NW Mauritania.
