The Meropidae – Bee-eaters is a Family of mid-sized, slender, long tailed, non-passerine, insectivorous, aerially active birds of the Order Coraciiformes. They are typed as ‘Sallyer‘ which means typically that they sally forth… from a well chosen elevated perch to catch their flying prey, typically bees or wasps, and then return back to their perch to wait for the next one to pass bye.
