Mistle thrush – Turdus viscivorus – is a larger Eurasian thrush of Type – ground-forager, Family Turdidae and Order Passeriformes. It has an extensive range from W Europe to Mongolia. From W Europe to SW Asia it is both resident and a winter visitor, in N Europe and N Asia to Mongolia it is a summer breeder, and in N Africa and the Middle East it is more a winter visitor, In the AWB Region it has a complex pattern of all three movements, summer breeder, resident and winter visitor, some areas have all three. Therefor in broad terms, it is a summer breeder to the S Caucasus, but it also has the other two as well. Turkey and Iran has a mixture of resident and winter visitor. In Iraq, Syria, Jordan, the Levant and Cyprus it is a winter visitor. In NW Libya and the N Maghreb states it is a complex mixture of resident and winter visitor.
