Moussier’s redstart – Phoenicurus moussieri – is a small resident/migratory African passerine of Type – sallyer, Family Muscicapidae and Order Passeriformes. It is resident and a winter visitor across the N of the Maghreb states and into NW Libya. It is an endemic resident breeder throughout the Atlas Mountain Range, and has been chosen as the national bird of Morocco. The wintering areas are not very far from the resident areas and are more like altitudinal adjustments than migratory movements.
