Nile Valley sunbird – Hedydipna metallica – is a small resident African/Arabian passerine of Type – nectivore and Order Passeriformes. It is resident along the Nile Valley of Egypt and Sudan and is also resident along the E Coast of Sudan southwards to Somalia, where at the Horn of Africa it becomes a winter visitor. It is also resident along the SW coastal zones of Arabia from Jeddah to Dhofar.
