The Northern bald ibis – Geronticus eremita or Waldrapp is a migratory long legged species of Type – wadingbird, Family Threskiornithidae and Order Pelecaniformes. It used to be common and widespread around the Mediterranean Basin but has now seriously declined. There remain a few areas of assisted populations in Morocco, Spain, Italy, Austria and Syria.
