Oriental cuckoo – Cuculus optatus – is a typical grey migratory Asian cuckoo of Type – cuckoidal – Family Cuculidae and Order Cuculiformes. It is a summer breeder from E Europe to the Far East and winters to the S, from SE Asia to Australia. In the AWB Region it is recorded as Accidental to the Levant.
