Pheasant-tailed jacana

The Pheasant-tailed jacana – (Hydrophasianus chirurgus) is the largest jacana and a Wader of the family Jacanidae. It is native to S and SE Asia but is also partially migratory. In the AWB Region it is a winter visitor to Dhofar and Yemen. As a jacana it has very long toes and claws that allow it to walk easily over floating vegetation.
