The Pied cuckoo – Clamator jacobinus or Jacobin Cuckoo is a medium sized species of Type – cuckoidal, the family Cuculidae and the Order Cuculiformes. It has two populations, sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian sub-continent. In the AWB Region it has a breeding range right across the Sahel, in states from Mauritania to Eritrea. These birds disperse a little further south and to S Somalia for the non-breeding season. It occurs on Passage between Africa and India in N Somalia, Yemen and Oman.
