Plain nightjar – Caprimulgus inornatus – is a medium sized migratory Afro/Arabian nightjar of Type – crepuscular, Family Caprimulgidae and Order Caprimulgiformes. It is a summer breeder to the Sahel Belt and winters into the more wooded Sudanian Savanna and E Africa. Its summer breeding extends into SW Arabia. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad, Sudan, SE Egypt, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somaliland, SW KSA, W & SW Yemen. It is a winter visitor to S Mali and S Chad.
