The Family Pteroclidae – Sandgrouse+ is a family of medium sized sturdy ground dwelling birds. They are of Type – landfowl, and they are of the Order Pterocliformes. They are found in open country and semi-deserts across Africa, The Middle East, India and Central Asia. The Sandgrouse are the only English sub-family in Pteroclidae. Because of their chosen habitat, daily gregarious morning visits to water holes are an essential start to the day.
