Redwing – Turdus iliacus – is a migratory Eurasian thrush of Type – ground-forager, Family Turdidae and Order Passeriformes. It is found from W Europe to E Siberia, it is migratory in the N of its very extensive summer breeding range, and in winter it migrates to W Europe, NW Africa and SW Asia. In the AWB Region it is a winter visitor to S Caucasus, N Iran, coastal areas of Turkey, small areas of Iraq, Syria, the Levant and Cyprus, In N Africa it is a winter visitor to N Egypt and the N coastal areas of the Maghreb states.

Type - ground-forager - nests in low bush or on the ground, 
Summer Habitat - birch and conifer forested areas, tundra,
Winter Habitat - forms nomadic flocks searching for berries in open wooded areas,
