Ring ouzel – Turdus torquatus – it is a migratory European thrush of Type – ground-forager, Family Turdidae and Order Passeriformes. It is a summer breeder up to the far N of Europe and mountainous areas further to the S. It migrates S to the Mediterranean area and SW Asia in winter. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to Turkey, S Caucasus and NW Iran. It winters in Iran, SW Turkey, Cyprus, S Caucasus, and Iraq. In N Africa, it winters in NE Egypt, N Libya and the N areas of the Maghreb states.

Summer Habitat - breeds in open mountainous areas with occasional bushes, open moorland
Winter Habitat - high in forested mountains, but also in some lowlands often near water,
