Rufous-tailed scrub-robin – Cercotrichas galactotes – is a migratory/resident Eurasian chat, of Type – sallyer, Family Muscicapidae and Order Passeriformes. It is a summer breeder from Iberia/NWAfrica to Kazakhstan, it winters in two areas of s s Africa, W Africa, and the Horn of Africa regions. In addition there is a string of small isolated areas across the Sahel Belt into the Horn Region where it is resident. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to the N of the N African states, the Levant, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, S Caucasus, Iran, Qatar and small areas of KSA, UAE and Oman. There are two wintering areas, in the W, from Mauritania to Niger and in the E from SE Sudan, to Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia. Also as mentioned above there is a distributed resident population across the Sahel Belt to include Eritrea and the Horn Area of Somalia.
