Sanderling

The Sanderling – Calidris alba is a small Holarctic migratory wader of the family Scolopacidae. It is a summer breeder in the circumpolar High Arctic and migrates as far south as S America, S Africa and S Oceania. In the AWB Region it migrates to all the coasts of Africa, the Arabian Peninsular and Iran. It is found on Passage in The Levant, Turkey, the South Caucasus and Iran, and also in Africa in Central Mali, S Niger and S Chad.
