Sooty tern

The Sooty tern – Onychoprion fuscatus is a Tropical, medium sized Tern of Type – seabird of the family Laridae and the Order Charadriiformes. It is found in Tropical Waters worldwide and apart from the breeding season when it nests colonially on rocky or coral islands, it spends it’s time at sea. In the AWB Region it breeds in the Socotra islands and outside the breeding season it is found offshore Oman and is Accidental to UAE E coast waters.

Type - seabird - nests colonially in a scrape on the ground or hole,
Breeding Habitat - feeds in flocks at sea, only coming ashore on rocky or coral Tropical islands to breed. 
Winter Habitat - outside of breeding, pelagic and widely dispersive around the Tropics
