South polar skua – Stercorarius maccormicki – is a large migratory pelagic seabird that breeds around the coastline of Antarctica. It is of Type – seabird, Family Stercorariidae and Order Charadriiformes. Outside of the breeding season it spends its time widely spread in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans. The AWB Region lies outside of its normal range but it is recorded as Accidental in Oman waters.
