Spotted flycatcher – Muscicapa striata – is a migratory Eurasian flycatcher of Type – sallyer, Family Muscicapidae and Order Passeriformes. Its feeding behaviour is the classic origin of the Type – sallyer, and it has a very extensive range as a summer breeder from W Europe to Mongolia and in winter, also has an extensive wintering range over s s Africa. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to the N Maghreb states, Cyprus, the Levant, Turkey, the S Caucasus, Iran and E Central Iraq. The wintering range in s s Africa lies to the S of the AWB Region.
