Upland buzzard – Buteo hemilasius – is the largest buzzard of the Family Accipitridae. It is of the Order Accipitriformes and of Type diurnal-raptor, and native to Central and Eastern Asia. In the AWB Region it is found in small numbers in Eastern Iran.

Habitat Hunting: Dry open grassland, steppes with rocky outcrops, montane grassland and cultivation
Habitat Nesting: Cliffs and rock ledges
Habitat Winter: Lower elevations
